Sunday, December 13, 2:00–3:30 PM
Give your holiday tree a new character–or a whole new sparkle! Turn colorful glass into a penguin, reindeer, snowflake or another festive design as you create a fused glass ornament to bring out year after year.
What you’ll do
Start with a design you’d love to see on your tree: a snowflake, snowperson, Christmas tree, penguin, reindeer, wreath or present. Then play with color and shape as you build your 4 × 4-inch ornament, adding the details that give it personality.
Your instructor will introduce glass safety and show you how to use glass-cutting tools. You’ll explore glass dots, thin glass stringers, crushed glass called frit, and sparkling dichroic glass, trying different combinations as your ornament takes shape. Keep it for your own holiday collection or make a gift with someone special in mind.
Your ornament will be fired after class and ready for pickup at the Depot or the glass studio in about a week.
