Rita Carpenter

Rita Carpenter is a watercolor artist and lifelong photographer who loves the balance between loose, wild color and careful control—and helps students find that balance in their own work.

About Rita

Rita began painting in watercolor in 2008 and has built her skills through extensive hands-on learning, including international art adventures with Karlyn Holman and study with many instructors. She has held leadership roles with the Janesville Art League and served with the Association of Wisconsin Artists and the International Watercolor Society.

Her approach is encouraging and technique-forward, with room to experiment, learn the fundamentals, and develop your own style.

In 2018, Rita founded Art on the Fly, organizing art-focused travel experiences that bring artists together to create.
